What is press brake bending?

Press brake bending uses a powered ram to force a flat sheet of metal between a punch and a die, folding it to a precise angle along a single straight line. The moment the pressure releases, the metal tries to spring back toward flat again, a property called springback.

Mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, up to 5 mm. Outside that range, ask before assuming the answer’s no.

A well calibrated CNC press brake holds bend angles to within roughly half a degree, with linear positioning accurate to a couple of tenths of a millimetre. Tighter tolerances are possible depending on material and complexity, ask when you send through your drawing.

We’re set up for production runs and longer bends, not single small items. If you need volume, structural lengths, or an ongoing supply arrangement, that’s exactly what we’re geared for.

We work directly from CAD files, DXF and PDF, that’s the fastest route from your drawing straight to the brake. Images are useful to show us what you’ve got in mind, but they’re not a bending file. If all you can send through is a photo or reference picture, we’ll need to design the part properly before it can be bent, and that design work carries its own fee.

Price depends on material, thickness, bend complexity and quantity. A production run brings the per-unit cost down significantly compared to a single item, since setup time is the same either way. Send your drawing and the quantity you need and you’ll have a number back within 24 hours.
