Fibre Laser Cutting

Fibre laser cutting is our primary cutting process. A high-powered laser beam, guided by CNC software, cuts through metal along a programmed path with accuracy typically within 0.05mm. It produces clean edges, tight tolerances, and minimal material waste, and it requires no physical tooling, which keeps costs down for short runs and one-off parts.

We cut mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, and brass. Material thickness ranges from light gauge sheet through to heavier plate depending on the material type. Files accepted in DXF and DWG. If you don’t have a production-ready file, contact us and we’ll work through what’s needed before the job starts.

Press Brake Bending

Press brake bending forms flat sheet metal into angles, channels, flanges, and box sections by pressing it between a punch and a die. Our press brake handles bend lengths up to 3.2 metres with 300 tonnes of force, which covers the full range of sheet and plate work most fabrication jobs require.

Bending directly follows laser cutting for most jobs that need both processes. Because we run cutting and bending in the same workshop, the tolerance from the laser cut blank carries directly into the bend setup without a separate quoting, scheduling, and transport cycle between two different suppliers.

Fibre Laser Welding

Fibre laser welding joins metal using a focused laser beam rather than a conventional arc or MIG process. It produces a narrow, precise weld with minimal heat distortion, which matters on jobs where the part geometry has to stay within tight tolerances after welding, or where the weld appearance is visible in the finished product.

On structural components like the brackets we fabricated for the Gondwana Lodge project, weld integrity matters as much as cut accuracy. Having welding in-house means we can move from cut blank to bent component to welded assembly in one continuous workflow and quality-check the result before it leaves the workshop.

CNC Lathe Turning

CNC lathe turning produces cylindrical components with tight dimensional tolerances. Shafts, bushings, spacers, threaded components, and custom round-section parts are all within scope. The CNC control means the same part can be reproduced identically across a production run without dimensional drift between the first and last piece.

For jobs that combine turned components with laser cut or bent parts, having both processes in-house means the turned components and the sheet metal parts arrive at assembly stage at the same time, from the same supplier.

Materials We Work With

Mild steel is the most common material across all four of our processes. It’s cost-effective, widely available, easy to cut, bend, and weld, and suitable for most structural and general fabrication applications when properly finished.

Stainless steel is the right choice for outdoor applications, coastal environments, food-contact surfaces, and anywhere corrosion resistance matters without ongoing maintenance. We cut and weld 304 and 316 grade stainless steel.

Aluminium is specified where weight is a constraint, natural corrosion resistance is needed, or a non-magnetic material is required. It requires specific laser settings to cut cleanly and is handled differently to steel across all four processes.

Copper and brass are cut on the same fibre laser platform with material-specific power and speed settings. Both are used in electrical, decorative, and specialised engineering applications.
