Mild Steel Signs
Mild steel is the most cost-effective laser cut signage material and the most common choice for signs that will be painted, powder coated, or installed in covered indoor locations. It cuts cleanly at most thicknesses and holds fine detail well. The trade-off is that mild steel rusts without a protective finish, so any mild steel sign intended for outdoor installation needs a proper powder coat or paint finish applied before it goes up.
For painted dimensional lettering, cut-out logo panels, and interior feature wall signs, mild steel is the practical, economical choice. The finish applied to it is what determines the final look and the outdoor service life.
Stainless Steel Signs
Stainless steel is the correct choice for any sign that will live outdoors in the Western Cape’s coastal environment without a paint or powder coat finish.
