Project Overview

Big 5 Products designed and built a portable, collapsible charcuterie bar for ZFG, built to be set up and packed down without tools, light enough to handle solo, and compact enough to fit in the back of a standard car.

The Challenge

The client needed a stand they could set up themselves at any event, no tools, no assistance, and no heavy lifting. It also had to collapse down small enough to fit in a normal car boot, seats included. The main difficulty was working out the exact interlocking sequence and hinge system that would let the panels and shelves slide in and lock without hardware, while still being structurally sound once assembled.

The Solution

We designed interlocking panels with a built-in hinge system, allowing the shelves to slide into place and lock in a specific step-by-step sequence. No screws, no tools, no separate hardware to lose or carry. The sequence was engineered so the structure only reaches full strength once every step is completed in order, keeping the build both simple to follow and solid once standing.

The Outcome

A clean, professional-looking charcuterie bar setup that ZFG can transport, assemble, and pack down entirely on their own, at any event, without tools or help. The result was a returning client who now uses the stand regularly for their events.
